Dragonflight Pre-Patch Guide

Hey everyone! Just wanted to quickly note that the pre-patch guide will not be as in depth as the expansion guide as most players will not be playing the pre-patch competitively. If you're interested in the full Dragonflight guide, check out the main Written Guide. With the Dragonflight Pre-patch comes a complete talent revamp, bringing back an older style talent system which gives us lots of ways to be creative with new playstyles! Below are the recommended talent paths for the strongest M+ and Raid builds in Pre-patch, but please keep in mind that since we're missing a lot of major talent points that unlock between levels 61-70 the playstyle will feel a bit lacking and will improve once we level up in Dragonflight.
Pre-patch Mythic+ Build

The go to covenant and legendary for this build should be Necrolord and Vanguard's Momentum. Alternatively you can opt to go Venthyr and Mad Paragon, which will give you more burst AoE damage in exchange for consistent healing.

This build is focused around harnessing the power of Holy Shock and Glimmer of Light by getting as many Holy Shocks out as possible. Between Crusader's Might, Sanctified Wrath and Imbued Infusions we have a lot of ways to reduce Holy Shock's Cooldown. Unfortunately since we're not level 70 yet we're missing a lot of the power Dragonflight max level will bring, specifically the Dusk and Dawn, Seal of Order, Awakening and Beacon of Faith talents. On the plus side however, we do still have access to Shadowlands covenants and legendaries during pre-patch.

Below are the two major spell priorities for this build. For the purposes of this section, HS = Holy Shock, CS = Crusader Strike, WoG = Word of Glory, LoD = Light of Dawn, HoW = Hammer of Wrath, SotR = Shield of the Righteous, HL = Holy Light and FoL = Flash of Light.

Healing Spell Priority
HS
WoG / LoD (if 4+ injured)
CS (if HS is on cooldown for 2+ seconds)
FoL / HL (with Divine Favor up)
Consecration / Judgment
Damage Spell Priority
Consecration
SotR (with excess Holy Power)
HoW
HS
CS (if HS is on cooldown for 2+ seconds)
Judgment

The only adjustment to this priority is if you choose to run Venthyr with Mad Paragon, always prioritize Hammer of Wrath while in Ashen/Wings over everything else. Remember that these priorities will change once Dragonflight launches and we lose covenants / legendaries and gain new talents unlocks.

Pre-patch Raiding Crusader Build

The go to covenant and legendary for this build should be Necrolord and Shock Barrier. Alternatively you can opt to go Venthyr and Shock Barrier, which will give you more burst AoE healing in exchange for consistent healing.

This build is very similar to the Mythic+ build, which harnesses the power of Holy Shock and Glimmer of Light by getting as many Holy Shocks out as possible. Crusader's Might and Sanctified Wrath give us a huge amount of Holy Shock's cooldown reduction. Unfortunately, just like the M+ build, since we're not level 70 yet we're missing a lot of the power Dragonflight max level will bring; specifically the Dusk and Dawn, Seal of Order, Awakening and Beacon of Faith talents. On the plus side however, we do still have access to Shadowlands covenants and legendaries during pre-patch.

Pre-patch Raiding Infusion "Caster" Build

The go to covenant and legendary for this build should be Necrolord and Shock Barrier. Alternatively you can opt to go Venthyr and Shock Barrier, which will give you more burst AoE healing in exchange for consistent healing.

This build is very different from the instant cast Shadowlands and BFA gameplay that largely ignored hard casting, and instead plays into the power of Holy Light, Flash of Light and Infusion of Light. Unfortunately, just like the other builds, since we're not level 70 yet we're missing a lot of the power Dragonflight max level will bring; specifically the Dusk and Dawn, Seal of Order, Awakening, Inflorescence of the Sunwell and Beacon of Faith talents.

HS
Empowered WoG (Necrolord)
LoD
HL (slow heal with splash AoE)
FoL (quick spot heal)
Consecration / Judgment
CS
Damage Spell Priority
Consecration
SotR (with excess Holy Power)
HoW
HS
CS (if HS is on cooldown for 2+ seconds)
Judgment
That covers everything you should know for the pre-patch builds, now it's time to go in depth in the full Dragonflight guides.
